As luck would have it, my duties on my second day of Eater Lounge coverage were done by noon so my editor asked if I wanted another go at the Grand Tasting. Um, hell yeah! My first go the previous day was an abbreviated one – I arrived over two hours into a three event so I didn’t really get a chance at some of the goodies. Tired and hungry after an all night ferry ride from the mainland to the island of Sicily, my mom and I stumbled into this restaurant for lunch while walking around the charming old town of Cefalu. We inqured if there was outside seating, and were led through the restauant to a magnificant terrace overlooking the sea. Inn Bufalito

Here, Kate kicks off a series of posts from her trip to Italy with a meal at Inn Bufalito in Sorrento.

The chef and owner Franco is obviously passionate about what he does. He personally greets each table, earnestly explaining Inn Bufalito’s concept. Perhaps his six years in the states gave him inspiration for this restaurant, which is at the same time very traditional Italian, and very modern. He uses no cream or butter in his cooking, as the ancient Italians from the Amalfi Coast would not have, and uses all regional ingredients.
