Totale

In this solo dining adventure, Gary finally checks out the $5 margherita pie promo at Totale.

This past summer, I heard something that left me in stunned disbelief. LeBron taking his “talents” to South Beach? No, something even more astounding – there was a place on St. Marks selling $5 margherita pies! Yes, you read that correctly. For not even the price of two New York-style slices at your average pizza joint, you can have an entire pie! [...]

Serious Pie

In this solo dining adventure, Gary visits Serious Pie, one of many restaurants from Seattle mega-restauranteur Tom Douglas.

When asking for help from my fellow Chowhounders, many mentioned that I’d be remiss if I didn’t visit at least one Tom Douglas joint while I was out in Seattle. After all, the man has several restaurants (six by my count), all of different styles and cuisines. I narrowed my choices down to two. I was definitely tempted by Palace Kitchen and their burger, which I was told was one of the best in Seattle. Anyone who’s been following my posts on this site can probably figure out that I do have quite the burger fetish. In the end, though, I went with Serious Pie simply because they were open for lunch and Palace Kitchen was not. [...]

Brunch at Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria

In this solo dining adventure, Gary and JP cap off a gloriously gluttonous weekend with brunch at Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria.

JP and I live charmed foodie lives – Friday night, we were at The Spotted Pig for dinner, Saturday morning was bánh mì and Peking duck buns in Flushing, and Saturday night we joined Kate and BF for dinner at Motorino. Sunday would be no day of rest for the two of us as we decided to take on one of the new kids on the block — Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria — for brunch. I know what you’re thinking and, yes, we realized we were going to a pizzeria less than 24 hours after eating at another one for dinner. That wouldn’t stop us as we were lured here by the promise of breakfast pizzas both of the savory and sweet variety. [...]

Dinner at Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria

In this solo dining adventure, Kate and BF have dinner at a very busy Pulino’s Bar & Pizzeria.

I’ve been on a pizza kick lately. I’ve enjoyed pies twice at Motorino and once at Keste this month alone. I ate my face off at Co. several months ago have wanted to go back ever since. Of course that’s not even counting my standard guilty little stops at Joe’s of Bleeker Street on my way home from work. So eating pizza I’ve come to realize, is much like doing yoga, checking Facebook, and drinking coffee– the more you do it, the more you crave it. So although it wasn’t my intention, I somehow ended up at Pulino’s last Saturday night. [...]

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana

In this solo dining adventure, Gary finds some really good pizza in San Francisco at North Beach’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana.

I love pizza. In high school, pizza was my favorite food to eat and I would look forward to getting a slice after school most days. A slice of pizza was the perfect after-school snack – not too filling so I’d be unable to eat dinner later and not too expensive so I wouldn’t break my meager wallet. [...]
